MISSION

At You Don’t Have to Cry Alone in Silence, our mission is to walk alongside survivors of domestic violence by offering compassionate support, trauma-informed counseling, and access to life-changing resources. We are committed to ensuring that no one has to suffer in silence or navigate their healing journey alone.

Through education, advocacy, and community outreach, we work to disrupt cycles of abuse and empower survivors with knowledge, hope, and practical support. By connecting individuals to trusted resources and standing with them during critical transitions, we help survivors regain stability, confidence, and a renewed sense of purpose.

Together, we strive to create a safe and supportive community where every voice matters, every story is respected, and every survivor is reminded that healing is possible and help is within reach.

 Vision

At You Don’t Have to Cry Alone in Silence, we envision a world where every individual feels safe, valued, and empowered in their homes and communities. We are committed to ending domestic violence through education, advocacy, and survivor-centered support, while fostering a culture rooted in dignity, respect, and equality.

Through awareness, accessible resources, and compassionate outreach, we strive to replace fear and abuse with hope, healing, and restoration. Together, we seek to empower survivors to reclaim their voices, rebuild their lives, and thrive in freedom and purpose.

Valerie Lewis

Founder

Valerie Lewis is a survivor, advocate, author, and board-certified Christian and trauma counselor who is deeply committed to helping individuals break free from the silence of abuse and begin the journey toward healing and wholeness.

After walking through her own personal trials, Valerie understands firsthand the pain, fear, and isolation that domestic violence can bring. Grounded in faith and inspired by Jeremiah 29:11, she believes that no matter the past, God still has a future filled with hope, purpose, and restoration.

In January 2020, Valerie founded 501 (c) (3) nonprofit You Don’t Have to Cry Alone in Silence, created to provide support, education, resources, and a safe space for survivors of domestic violence. Through counseling, advocacy, faith-based guidance, and community outreach, the organization exists to remind every survivor that they are seen, heard, and not alone.

Valerie’s mission is to help individuals heal emotionally, regain their voice, and move forward with strength, dignity, and renewed hope. Her work centers on compassion, empowerment, and protection—meeting survivors where they are and walking alongside them toward freedom and restoration.  You are never beyond healing.
